More than just a pedestrian shortcut, Calgary’s Plus 15 network is a defining element of the city’s urban identity. Spanning 16 kilometres and connecting over 100 buildings downtown, this elevated walkway system—first introduced in 1969—offers a weatherproof, accessible corridor that supports tenants and retailers year-round.

In a city where temperature extremes are routine, the Plus 15 is a critical amenity for tenants, retailers, and downtown workers alike, reducing reliance on cars, boosting walkability, and increasing foot traffic to local businesses. For developers, properties linked into the network benefit from enhanced leaseability and pedestrian visibility.

Similar to Montreal’s Underground or Toronto’s PATH, the Plus 15 has become a national example of climate-resilient infrastructure with embedded cultural value—connecting destinations like the Glenbow Museum, shopping centres, and office towers under one protected system.
