Calgary is gearing up for what could be one of the busiest summers on record, as the 2025 G7 Summit kicks off a stacked event calendar that includes the Rotary International Convention and the Calgary Stampede. Tourism Calgary projects over 10,000 hotel room nights tied to the G7 alone, with Stampede bookings already outpacing 2024 levels in most districts.
While early-year tourism was dampened by global volatility, the back half of 2025 is showing strong momentum, fueled by international delegations, media presence, and rising consumer confidence. The G7 (June 15–17 in Kananaskis) is expected to bring over 5,000 delegates, along with thousands more journalists, staff, and security personnel. It’s the kind of global visibility that reinforces Calgary’s evolution as an event city.
For CRE stakeholders, this underscores growing demand for hospitality, retail, and urban mixed-use investment, especially in East Victoria Park, the Beltline, and the newly revitalized Culture + Entertainment District.
