Olds Data Centre Project Returns to Review Stage

A proposed $10B data centre development in Olds is moving forward again after resetting its regulatory application.The project remains in early-stage review with the Alberta Utilities Commission.

  • Developer plans to reapply to the AUC following closure of the initial submission

  • Updated application to include additional technical detail and community engagement

  • Proposal includes a data centre campus supported by an on-site natural gas power plant

  • Represents a multi-phase, large-scale investment in Central Alberta


The original application was closed due to incomplete information, not a rejection. A revised submission is expected in the coming months.
