More than a century after debuting the Fairmont Palliser, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced a second Calgary hotel—this time near Stampede Park. Dubbed Fairmont Calgary, the new mixed-use tower will feature 225 hotel rooms, a spa, meeting spaces, and 100 residences.

The project is a direct response to the transformation of Calgary’s Culture + Entertainment District and is being developed in partnership with Truman. While site details have not been confirmed, the property is expected to open in late 2031 and will move into the design and regulatory phase in the coming months.

Fairmont says the project will offer a new social hub for Calgary, while boosting economic activity through construction and long-term employment. This comes amid broader hospitality growth in the Stampede Park area, including recently announced JW Marriott and W Calgary hotels, helping address Calgary’s estimated shortfall of 4,500 hotel rooms—especially around the expanded BMO Centre.
