Calgary continues to stand out among Canada’s major cities, with housing starts remaining strong through 2025. The city’s pace of new construction has been among the highest in the country, helping to address persistent population growth and housing demand.
CMHC notes that while affordability pressures remain, Calgary’s housing market benefits from comparatively lower costs and an active supply pipeline relative to Toronto and Vancouver. This supply resilience is helping to temper some of the pressures seen elsewhere in the country.
